PicasaFlow – Picasa Album Viewer

Hi there,

Welcome to my blog!

This being my first post, I would like to share my first experiment with Adobe Flex on Google App Engine. I have been working on it for quite a while now to accomplish this. You could use it to view any user’s public albums as described below.

Usage:

  1.  Visit the URL http://deep-zone.appspot.com/static/picasaflow.swf?username=kctpradeep
  2. In the URL, replace the username parameter with any valid google username to view the user’s public gallery (if any).
  3. Click on any thumbnail to watch the album, coverflow style.
  4. Once in the album, use your mouse or the Left and Right arrow keys to navigate to previous and next photos.
  5. The close button is at the top right corner of the album to return to the list of thumbnails.

Note: It works only with Flash-player version 9 or above.

Technical details for those interested:

UI: Adobe Flex, ActionScript

I have used the following open-source flex components:

Hosted on: Google App Engine

Hope you enjoyed it. Eagerly awaiting your feedback.
